The beginning of a new year brings with it the renewed vigor to achieve past goals and to create new ones. To help add a little fire and organization to ones desire vision boards are the way to go. Vision boards are great for both personal and professional goals, but what we put on those boards are very vital. The scripture says for us to prosper and be in health as our soul prospers 3 John 1:2.  Before we put anything on the board we must make sure the strengthening of our spiritual life come first because only what we do for Christ will last.

When creating a board do what works best for you and be honest with yourself. True change will never occur unless you’re truly honest with yourself.  Before you get to cutting and pasting, go old school and put pen to paper and write it out. Don’t worry about spelling or grammar just get started. Write your big dreams, your small dreams, your crazy dreams, and your sane ones, this is not the time to limit yourself this is the time to be limitless. Now as mentioned earlier you have to be honest with yourself.  Don’t put down run the Boston Marathon when you have a hard time walking to the mail box. I am not saying you will never run a marathon I am saying you may want to put “start jogging in the morning” or “train to run a 5k.”  Like in life we must learn to crawl before we can walk, and walk before we can run. Learn to enjoy every goal you’ve achieved no matter what even if it’s “not getting tired when walking to the mail box.” We should not despise our small beginnings. As you’re writing you should also be praying. Is this the direction God wants you to go in? Are there opportunities you haven’t thought of? Thanking God for putting the right people in your life to make this vision a reality.

Now that you have completed step one the fun begins. All those magazines you’ve been meaning to throw out but never got around to it, get some scissors and glue and let the grade school creative juices start flowing.  Start leafing through those old magazines for inspiration you may even want to go out and purchase some new magazines that have topics and images for the new you. Not sure what a vision board looks like, you can always Google the word ‘vision board’ and see different examples. Look at examples put don’t copy it exactly this is your vision board. If you like it neat make it neat if you like a little chaos go for it , don’t try to be like anyone else this vision is yours to accomplish.

Okay, you’re more of a Jetson than a Flinstone’s type of person and would rather create your board on the computer, that also works, whatever works for you works.  There are tons of images on the internet you can use, and once you’ve clicked save you should make your vision board your screen saver not only on your computer but also on your phone so your vision is always in your vision.

All that you have placed on your board may not come to pass in 2015 but you have achieved one goal…you created a vision board.
